Last updated: 26 June 2014

The GRUIA DUFAUT Law Office takes part, as partner of UBIFRANCE, in collaboration with the Economic Service and the Cooperation Service of the French Embassy in Romania and CCIFER, to the organisation of the event MIEUX VIVRE EN VILLE: French solutions for the sustainable development of cities.

The event held on June 24 and 25, 2014, in Bucharest and in Cluj-Napoca, is aimed at acquainting French companies with the existing projects and the main urban development strategies in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and in major Romanian cities, as well as to create direct contacts between French companies and Romanian decision-makers and companies.

On the day before the event, Ms Loredana Van De WAART, Partner at the GRUIA DUFAUT Law Office, made a presentation before the French companies present in Bucharest for the event. This presentation comprised a series of particularities of Romanian law on public procurement, service concessions and public-private partnerships in comparison with the European and French legislation and jurisprudence and it highlighted both the strong points and the disadvantages of the relations with urban planning local authorities.

The GRUIA DUFAUT Law Office has an experience of over 23 years in providing legal assistance to foreign investors in Romania, both in entering the Romanian market (greenfield, company or asset acquisitions, joint-venture and various other forms of investment in Romania) and subsequently, during the development of their business in Romania.
