Maud Gilet, an associate at Gruia Dufaut & Partners, participated on April 23 in the Emerging Technologies/AI for Businesses Transformation Conference organized by the Belgian Luxembourg Romanian Moldovan Chamber of Commerce (BEROCC) in Bucharest. In her speech, Maud emphasized the growing presence of new technologies as a significant opportunity, not only for legal professionals who choose to integrate them into their practice, but also for citizens and entrepreneurs who benefit from enhanced access to justice. She also highlighted the inherent risks and challenges associated with these advancements, particularly regarding the accuracy and security of data processed by technology. Maud Gilet underscored that potential tensions between technological evolution and the legal sphere can be mitigated through comprehensive education for all on the workings and implications of new technologies, as well as through a proactive approach to establishing a clear and ethical legal framework.
The panel, organized as part of the BEROCC conference during Belgian Week, was moderated by Mioara Iofciulescu, Vice President at OFA UGIR, CEO Atlantis Romania.
